Nabarro Natha-- sorry, Nabarro…wow, this is going to take some getting used to... is not the only City firm that will be sensationally overhauling its headed letter paper in a radical stationery revamp.
An advisory dispatch from Chancery Lane last week warned firms of the latest apocalyptic consequences of the wave of controversial reforms set to wash over the profession in the coming months.
As well as the advent of multi-disciplinary practices and supermarkets buying the Welsh bits of Eversheds, the cruel new regulatory regime is set to fling another vast regulatory spanner in the workings of City firms.
The new Solicitors’ Code of Conduct will apparently require solicitors to replace the hallowed legend ‘Regulated by the Law Society’ – was ever a prouder phrase uttered? – on their notepaper with the tautological bureaucratic nightmare that is ‘Regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority’.
Amazingly, law firms will have only a blink-and-you-miss-it transitional period of “a few months” during which they can use whichever tagline they prefer.
It’s red tape gone mad!
