« Dealmaker's PA: Karen Bertram | Chain reaction | Pageant provocateur »

Not normally one to take the softly, softly approach when a blunderbuss mounted on a war elephant will do, Legal Services Nemesis Zahida Manzoor today got surprisingly flirty with the Legal Complaints Service – formerly the complaints-handling arm of the Law Society.
In her latest report, Manzoor coos that the body’s latest complaints-handling targets are “adequate” - pretty much a declaration of undying love compared to the typical exchanges between her office and the Law Society, which have historically been frostier than a Cold War refrigerator.
The Service, however, isn't having any of it and later this afternoon sent out its (slightly tetchy) response.
“We are pleased that the Commissioner has found our plan ‘adequate’,” squirms the opening line of the missive, “[but] we do not recognise her characterisation of us as a reactive organisation that is contained within the Commissioner’s press release.”
Fighting talk indeed – although to avoid being tarred with that ‘reactive’ brush next year, the body may want to get its retaliation in first.
