Diary Top 10: Go your own way

Posted 2/04/2007 by The Daily Diary

Back by unpopular demand, The Diary’s (very) occasional ‘Top 10’ feature returns with the semi-score most popular reasons this week for ditching your international alliance to conquer Europe alone.

  1. To look ruthless in front of major corporate client
  2. Got drunk and thought you were texting ex-girlfriend
  3. Been at least a month since the last root-and-branch strategic review
  4. Discovered firm’s centuries-old Latin motto actually translates as ‘A flag on every map, a logo on every notepad’
  5. Seemed like fun when Dentons did it
  6. Ironic comment on creeping federalisation of European Union
  7. Alliance firms seemed better when you picked them from that catalogue
  8. Partners don’t need all that cash so may as well ‘invest’ it in something
  9. Could never conquer Europe in ‘Risk’ as a child
  10. Well…they’re foreign, aren’t they?
