Partners taking credit for associates’ work is nothing new, of course, although senior bods intent on hogging the limelight should at least make the effort to remember what it is they are supposed to have done.
In conversation with one City-based partner at a US firm this week, The Diary was preparing to switch off as he outlined all the impressive transactions he had led over the last few months.
“So, what have I been doing?” he faltered almost immediately. “Let’s see what the PRs say I am supposed to have done. I’ll check my bio.”
