In the lap of the gods

Posted 4/05/2007 by The Daily Diary

Ask any ambitious firm why it’s special and the chances are its partners will tell you it’s their unique attention to clients’ needs that stands them apart from all the other firms offering, er, unique attention to clients’ needs.

Now, however, it seems some prima donna clients are really trying it on, just to see how much they can get away with.

Just as Elton John refuses to have blue Smarties in his pre-gig dressing room (or so The Diary has heard), so the clients of one Iberian firm had their own bizarre demands.

Having already been wined and dined at one of Lisbon’s finest restaurants, they asked their hosts to take them to the local lap-dancing club. First impressions were good – but it all went downhill when one client discovered the posse of girls he had taken a liking to were unable to speak English.

Overlooking the patchiness of his own English, he demanded the partners take him to a lap-dancing club with English-speaking girls, as he wanted to be able to have a ‘conversation’ with them.

Presumably the lucky ladies were treated to hours of ‘seamless synergies’ chat and the occasional saucy ‘instruction’ tucked into their pants.

Definitely not a seamless service
