« Travers mountain a challenge to Ince | Skadden all at sea | Spiked: the Legal Week scoops that didn't quite make it »

The relationship between lawyers and the fourth estate can occasionally get a little fractious.
A certain hostility to the media was on display by some at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom, after a handful of reprobates from the New York monolith launched a shocking assault on Diary spies at the recent Manches Cup.
The annual sailing jamboree was going, er, swimmingly, until a few Skadden sailor-boys took to pelting the HMS Legal Week with apple cores during a race.
At first, Diary ingenues thought the Skadden team were simply waving — until the projectiles started landing ever-closer and the splashes got that much larger.
Meanwhile, with ‘ketchup-gate’ only now fading from City memories, The Diary is still waiting for dry cleaning-based compensation after an unfortunate episode during a Cup bash involving one ‘tired and emotional’ Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer partner and a bottle of red wine.
