Boarders' boardroom bed-hopping

Posted 13/06/2007 by The Daily Diary

With conflicts of interest under the microscope like never before – the media microscope, obviously - you would think City partners would be cautious about sleeping with the proverbial enemy these days.

Yet it seems even ultra-savvy Slaughter and May operator Sir Nigel of Boardman has been indulging in some Carry On-style bed-hopping after The Times today reported his appointment as a director of Tottenham Hotspur.

Sir Nigel is, of course, famed across Norf Laaandan as a committed Arsenal fan, although that hasn’t stopped the City’s most celebrated Gooner advising Spurs in the past as well.

Judging by the hostile reception Sol Campbell got at White Hart Lane after defecting from Spurs to their hated rival a few years back, Boarders might want to keep a low profile next time he visits Ashburton Grove.

Grateful Gooners thank Nigel for his contribution
