The war on terror claimed another victim last month – with one leading Italian firm ‘forced’ to cancel its partnership meeting after a flying visit to the country by George W Bush.
Insiders suggest the firm thought so much disruption would result from an appearance by the leader of the free world in its humble, er, metropolis that it recalled the summons issued to far-flung partners and rearranged the meeting for a later date.
Suggestions that partners were simply after any excuse to delay bringing in measures to share the cash around a bit more evenly are surely wide of the mark.
