With just a fortnight to go until Christmas, it seems premature eruptions of festive good-will have been going on in the City for months. Still, a hearty Yuletide huzzah goes out to the kindly folks at Lovells, who last week showered Legal Week hacks with chocolate-laden calendars of the non-denominational kind.
The Diary was puzzled to discover, however, that its own calendar, though gratefully received, was noticeably smaller than the one given to a (presumably more prestigious) colleague.
Indeed, the calendar that fell into your correspondent’s grubby maulers had one glaring omission. Somewhat depressingly, the calendar skips out weekends altogether, as if it were intended for the use of those toiling associates for whom the notion of ‘days off’ is a purely theoretical construct.
Either way, the firm’s associates had better behave themselves this Christmas, as Lovells obviously knows if you’ve been naughty or nice.
