Mutiny threatens to erupt at Atlantic House as furious Lovells partners realise they are almost mid-way through the year with no sign of a new lockstep review to replace to the one kicked off in 2007, or possibly a bit before that.
“We’re still scavenging on the crumbs of the 2007 overhaul,” complains one partner, warning that the City firm risks losing its status as commercial law’s answer to the perpetual motion machine.
Managing partner David Harris accepts responsibility for the fiasco, admitting that the shock period of stability is “not what people expect when they think of the name ‘Lovells’”. He vows to review his own performance immediately.
