Allen & Overy completes its reinvention from fun-starved fee factory to Hacienda-style temple of love with the news that every A&O fee earner will get to have a turn as senior partner over the coming year.

“It’s time to hand over the reins to a younger generation – every single one of them,” says outgoing supremo Guy Beringer. “And they’ll have only themselves to blame if it all goes tits-up.”
