Celebrations break out at the Bar Council as the body announces its thousandth consultation of the last 12 months – earning a mystery prize for council president Timothy Dutton QC. The historic achievement is made after widespread polling of Bar members on the traditional wearing of shower caps and dressing gowns in the bathroom.
Dutton is keen to share the credit with predecessor Geoffrey Vos QC and pledges to implement a far-reaching consultation to determine whether Vos should also be rewarded.
For his prize, meanwhile, Dutton wins a root-and-branch probe into a body-passage of his own choosing.
