Bricking the bank

Posted 28/02/2008 by The Daily Diary

Funny how fast things change. It wasn’t so very long ago the latest thing in finance was cov-lite, CDOs, SIVs and RMBS. The latest trend doesn’t even have an acronym.

The so-hot-it’s-smoking fad rocking the finance-law fraternity as you read this is the horribly addictive Brick Breaker game available RIGHT NOW! on a BlackBerry near you.

With bugger all to do at the moment, finance partners round the City are spending their rather expensive time running an informal Brick Breaker Syndicate (BBS) through Legal Week’s newshound network (LWNN).

Diary spies have been bombarded over the last few weeks by various City hotshots (VCHs) phoning in their latest high scores and checking in on best efforts of rivals. Email thediary@legalweek.com with your highest score and we’ll mention the best Brick Breakers in a couple of weeks. For the record, your correspondent’s record score is 4,701,395 – it would have been more but the BlackBerry’s battery ran out just 16 hours in.

Block-breaking beats: more fun than City finance
